Octopus Intelligent Drive Pack explained
What Octopus Intelligent Drive Pack is, how it differs from Intelligent Octopus Go, and which EV drivers it suits.

Short answer
Intelligent Drive Pack is a fixed-price subscription for smart-scheduled EV charging, used alongside a normal household tariff. Intelligent Go, by contrast, is a tariff that puts your whole home on a cheap overnight rate. Drive Pack needs a compatible car or charger, and Octopus has described it as oversubscribed, so check whether it is open before planning around it.
How it works
Instead of a cheap rate per kWh, you pay a set monthly amount for eligible EV charging that Octopus schedules. The rest of the home stays on whichever household tariff you choose.
Drive Pack or Intelligent Go?
Intelligent Go cuts the price of everything you use overnight, including the dishwasher, the immersion heater and the battery, not just the car. Drive Pack only covers the car’s charging but gives you a predictable monthly charging cost.
- You run a lot of other appliances overnight: Intelligent Go probably wins.
- You drive a lot, and value a fixed monthly cost: Drive Pack may suit you, if it is open.
- You want to keep a fixed or standard household tariff: Drive Pack lets you.
Availability
Octopus has described Drive Pack as oversubscribed. Check its current status and eligible cars and chargers on Octopus’s page before switching anything else.
Questions people ask

Do I need a specific car or charger?
Yes. Like Intelligent Go, it depends on Octopus being able to schedule a compatible car or charger.
