Points are interactive: hover, focus or select one for exact values. The line is the plain average of the regional monthly means — all 14 regions, in every month — and the shaded band runs from the cheapest of those regions to the dearest in that month. So the band is the spread BETWEEN regions, not the spread within a month — a regional page’s chart shows the latter. Nobody pays the line; it describes the country rather than a bill. 4 periods are drawn from part of the calendar rather than all of it: Apr 2025 (21 of 30 days), May 2025 (20 of 31 days), Jun 2025 (1 of 30 days), Aug 2026 (22 of 31 days). A month is partly counted where a version went on or came off sale inside it, and the current month is always still in progress. They are drawn hollow.

Questions, answered

What is Intelligent Octopus Go?
Intelligent Octopus Go is a smart EV tariff that automatically schedules your car charging during the cheapest periods. Unlike standard Go, it uses smart technology to optimise charging times based on grid conditions, potentially giving you more cheap hours.
How is Intelligent Go different from regular Octopus Go?
Regular Go has fixed off-peak hours (00:30-05:30). Intelligent Go is smarter: it guarantees 6 hours of cheap electricity but can schedule them flexibly throughout the night. It may also offer bonus cheap periods when the grid has excess renewable energy.
What do I need for Intelligent Octopus Go?
You need a compatible smart charger (like Ohme, Hypervolt, or certain Indra/Wallbox models) or a compatible EV that can be controlled via the Octopus app. You also need a smart meter.
Which EVs and chargers are compatible with Intelligent Go?
Compatible chargers include Ohme, Hypervolt, Indra Smart Pro, and Wallbox Pulsar Plus. Compatible EVs (that can be controlled directly) include Tesla, BMW, VW ID series, and many others. Check the Octopus website for the full list.
Will my car always be charged when I need it?
Yes! You set your target time (e.g., 7am) and required charge level in the app. Intelligent Go guarantees your car will be ready, while optimising when the charging actually happens to use the cheapest electricity.
Can I override the smart charging?
Yes, you can boost charge immediately through the Octopus app if you need your car sooner than planned. The system is flexible and puts you in control.
